Our liquid organic fertilizer is made from natural, organic materials and is a concentrated blend of humus, enzymes, organic acids, bacteria, growth auxins, vitamins and minerals. This product is designed to create optimal growth conditions, while augmenting the plant's natural resistance to environmental stress, disease and insects.

In addition, our blend also breaks up compacted soils allowing for greater oxygen exchange and a better environment for mycorrhizal fungi to grow. Mycorrhizal fungi are an essential part of healthy plants, promoting root growth and providing a natural defense against diseases and pests. Unfortunately the number of this beneficial fungi in the urban forest soil is often low.

With liquid organic fertilizer, you add much-needed nutrients to our seriously depleted soils as well as contribute to the overall health of your trees or shrubs.

Compost Tea
Boston Tree Preservation's compost tea is a water extract of compost that is brewed to give the bacteria, fungi, protozoa and nematodes a chance to increase in number and activity using the nutrients present in the water. Compost is the main ingredient of the compost tea, but teas may also contain extracts of other ingredients. Boston Tree Preservation includes fulvic acid, garlic, kelp, fish emulsion, and others depending on the situation. Fulvic acid is comprised of seventy-eight colloidal minerals that help plants overcome stress caused by pests, drought, cutting, etc. and is a crucial component for controlling insect pests and disease.

Compost tea can either be applied as a foliar spray or as a soil drench. As a foliar spray, compost teas apply beneficial organisms to plant surfaces so disease-causing organisms cannot find infection sites or food resources. These beneficial organisms provide nutrients as well. As a soil drench, compost tea develops a biological barrier around roots to prevent root disease-causing organisms from being able to find the roots. The tea also provides nutrients for the roots to improve plant growth and improves nutrient and moisture retention. Boston Tree Preservation uses compost teas on all shade trees and ornamentals to control insect pests and disease and to provide nutrition. Compost teas are used to control wilts, blights, and most major tree diseases.
